Thank you for visiting my website, and the
opportunity to introduce myself.

My most memorable times of early childhood were watching my father create magic in the makeshift photolab in the bathroom of our small Budapest apartment. An avid amateur photographer, he would develop his films and prints, while I would daydream of the time I too could become a photographer.

Years later, I used the same bathroom photolab to print color photos on fiber-based paper and dreamed of the day I wouldn’t have to wait fifty minutes for a test print.

Using that as my motivation to become a photo chemist, I received my Masters Degree from the Technical University of Budapest and began work for Forte Photochemical Industries, a major manufacturer of photo materials in Eastern Europe. Soon after, I became the technical manager of their processing lab, and although I enjoyed my work, I still focused on becoming a professional photographer

In 1979, I came to the United States seeking political and artistic freedom. As I began my new life, I first worked in a professional photolab as a color department supervisor, yet desired the opportunity to go out on my own. In just six years, I achieved my goal and opened my own photography studio, focusing on the specialty of architectural and interior photography.

My past experience in the lab business and the desire to control the quality of my own work motivated me to open my own photolab. Far from the Budapest bathroom lab where my father first created the magic that inspired the dreams of my lifetime, I opened Spectrum Photo in Berkley, Michigan, a full service professional photolab and stock photo agency. Today, we provide a wide range of traditional and digital services - from slide duplication to mural printing and high resolution scanning to photo quality digital output as well as representing two major East Coast stock agencies and several individual stock photographers. We work with clients from every segment of the business world - from architects, design firms and automotive giants - to the aspiring photographer from the neighborhood.
